The great Comrade Kim Il Sung is the world’s elder statesman, who put forward the clear-cut way for developing countries to defend national independence and sovereignty and to build a new society.

The great Comrade Kim Il Sung made strenuous external activities to rally the developing countries – emerged as an independent political force in the international political arena through the Bandung Conference in mid-1950s – as an anti-imperialist independent force.

Comrade Kim Il Sung, who attended the commemorative events of the 10th anniversary of the Bandung Conference (1st Asia-Africa Conference) held in Indonesia in April 1965, had significant meetings with the leaders from Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, discussing with them the ways for building a prosperous and powerful country and supporting the struggle of the people of these countries for building a new society.

He also met with leaders and delegates from many developing countries including Ghana and Mali and encouraged them with confidence in their efforts to advance along the road of independence.

Encouraged by Comrade Kim Il Sung, heads of state and government highly respected him as an outstanding leader who clarified the path of building a just new world and gave confidence to them.

In the 1970s and 1980s as well, the great Comrade Kim Il Sung strengthened the political bonds with the developing countries and provided sincere assistance to the peoples of those countries in their efforts for state-building in various fields such as economy and culture.

Comrade Kim Il Sung provided encouragement and confidence to Asian and African countries and guided them to go along the road of independence. Such immortal exploits in his external activities are inspiring as ever the progressive humankind to realize the cause of global independence.

Today, Asian and African countries are making proactive efforts to oppose domination and subordination and to establish a new international order. They are also raising their voices resolutely rejecting interference and arbitrariness of great powers in the United Nations and Non-Aligned Movement and other international political arenas.

It is the invariable stand of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to strengthen unity and cooperation with all countries aspiring to sovereignty.

Under the wise leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, the DPRK will continue to further develop the friendly and cooperative relations with Asian and African countries – provided by the great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung – as required by the new era.
